The Darley stallions continued a successful second day of Ascot’s Royal meeting when Move Swiftly (Farhh) led home Rawdaa (Teofilo) in the G2 Duke Of Cambridge Stakes.
Move Swiftly, who was making her 2019 debut, was held up initially under Daniel Tudhope, before making headway once entering the final two furlongs. The William Haggas-trained filly took up the running a furlong from home and despite Rawdaa laying down a strong challenge in the closing stages, Move Swiftly kept on gamely to win the one-mile contest by a neck. The pair were almost two lengths clear of I Can Fly in third.
Move Swiftly has never finished out of the frame in eight starts, winning four times and placing second in the Listed Fleur de Lys Stakes on her final start last year. She could now step up in class again, as she holds an entry in the G1 Pretty Polly Stakes.
Bred by Mrs K E Collie, Move Swiftly is out of the multiple winner Hurricane Harriet (Bertolini), herself a half-sister to Listed winner and Group producer Katy Nowaitee.
Farhh has enjoyed exceptional success with his first crop (which includes Move Swiftly), boasting 22% Stakes horses to runners. This crop also includes Derby runner up and Gold Cup contender Dee Ex Bee, while Farhh’s three-year-old son King Of Change was second in this year’s English 2,000 Guineas.
