Hey Gaman put in a strong performance to take the G3 Prix du Palais Royal at ParisLongchamp on Thursday, 30 May. Breaking well, the four-year-old son of New Approach raced prominently before powering away to win by a length for trainer James Tate. Hey Gaman has been a consistent performer at Group level finishing second as a two-year-old in the G2 Champagne Stakes before going down by a neck in last year’s G1 Poule d’Essai des Poulains. Prior to today’s victory, Hey Gaman had already yielded success this season when taking the Listed King Richard III Stakes last month at Leicester.
Hey Gaman is one of only two foals from the G2-placed Dubawi mare Arsaadi. Bred by Rabbah Bloodstock, this is the family of King’s Stand winner The Tatling and Listed victor Flash McGahon.
New Approach has already made an impression in 2019 with his runners, who include G3 winner Flop Shot, Listed-winning colt Jalmoud and G2 Dante victor Telecaster who now lines up in this year’s G1 Derby on Saturday.
