Cascadian again showed his class and added another $430,000 to his prize money swag when the son of New Approach raced away with the G3 Craven Plate over 1,800m at Royal Randwick in Sydney on Saturday, 15 October.
A brilliant winner of the G2 Hill Stakes at the same track two weeks earlier, Cascadian settled well back in the field for jockey James McDonald before dashing between horses in the home straight to easily beat Just Folk and Promitto.
The dual G1 winner, out of the Irish mare Falls Of Lora, has now won six Stakes races and a massive $5.16 million.
Godolphin Australia head trainer James Cummings pulled the right rein bringing the eight-year-old back from Melbourne last month after two runs this preparation.
The ageless gelding now looks certain to return to Flemington for the G1 Champions Mile on the last day of the Melbourne Cup carnival.
New Approach won five G1 races and eight in total during his short career of just 11 starts.
He was the two and three-year-old champion galloper in Europe and has sired 59 individual Stakes winners - including nine at G1 level.
New Approach stands at Darley’s Dalham Hall Stud at Newmarket in England for a private service fee.
