New Approach sired a new Stakes winner from his exceptional Classic crop on Saturday, 11 August when his son Loxley cruised to victory in the Prix Cavalassur. Dropping back to ten furlongs after a second in the G3 Bahrain Trophy on his previous start, the Charlie Appleby-trained colt was always going well and readily went clear in the final furlong to record an easy success.
Lightly raced with only five career starts, he has now won three times with his only disappointment coming in the G1 Racing Post Trophy on his second start.
He is a son of the G1 Prix de l’Opera heroine Lady Marain (Nayef), who has already produced two winners in Forest Maiden and Edwinstowe. She also has a colt foal by Dubawi, born in February this year.
He is the fifth Stakes winner to come from New Approach’s brilliant 2015 crop. Heading the pack is the superb Derby hero Masar and wide-margin G2 Prix de Malleret heroine Waldlied. His son Hey Gaman was also just touched off in the G1 Poule d’Essai des Poulains with his other G1-miling son Cascadian, the narrow Prix Jean Prat second, due to contest the G1 Prix Jacques Le Marois tomorrow at Deauville.
