Beautiful Romance, a four-year-old daughter of New Approach, made a winning seasonal debut on Thursday 12 May when winning the G2 Middleton Stakes at York. In a race littered with previous winners that have subsequently gone onto score at G1 level, she was held up in mid division early, before responding to pressure in the straight to run all the way to the line to record a one-and-a-quarter-length victory over Koora, with Journey (Dubawi) back in third.
Bred by Rabbah Bloodstock, she is out of the G3-winning Cape Cross mare Mazuna, who hails from the top family of Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe winner Sakhee. Mazuna also has to come a two-year-old colt by Sepoy and a full brother to Beautiful Romance, foaled in early April this year.
New Approach, the first stallion ever to sire three Royal Ascot juvenile Stakes winners in a season, has now sired 18 Group winners including the top-flight scorers Dawn Approach, Talent and Sultanina. He is standing this season at a fee of £60,000 Oct 1st, SLF.
