Turkish delight for Tha’Ir
Tha’Ir (New Approach), winner of the Listed Gala Stakes earlier this season, made a successful trip to Turkey on Saturday 5 September when landing the listed Anatolia Trophy (a local G2). Held up in third early behind his pacesetting barn mate Tumbaga, he challenged him at the top of the straight and drew away for a cosy success. The winner of the Listed Chesham Stakes as a juvenile, he was recording his seventh career success with his prize money now in excess of £300,000.
Bred by Lodge Park Stud, Tha’Ir is out of the winning Green Desert mare Flashing Green and from the superb extended family of Kayf Tara, Opera House, Zee Zee Top, Stagecraft and Lyric Of Light.
New Approach has been enjoying tremendous recent success with his juvenile colt Herald The Dawn winning the G2 Futurity Stakes, his three-year-old filly Beautiful Romance landing the August Stakes at Windsor by a wide margin and Ceisteach, Elliptique, Connecticut and Waldnah all winning either Group or Listed races in the past couple of months.
