Ceisteach all class in G3 Robert G Dick Memorial
After a gate-to-wire win in the Keertana Stakes at Churchill Downs in May, New Approach filly Ceisteach returned to the winner's circle July 11 capturing the G3 Robert G. Dick Memorial Stakes at Delaware Park.
In the one-and-three-eighths-mile turf race Ceisteach broke well, challenging early on in second. Into the far turn the filly took over the top position, and came on gamely when challenged down the lane to land the sharp win.
Four-year-old Ceisteach is out of Ceist Eile, also the dam of G3 Killavullan Stakes winner Steip Amach. The filly was bred by J. S. Bolger.
Ceisteach becomes the newest Graded or Group winner for New Approach, whose other top runners include 2,000 Guineas victor Dawn Approach and Oaks heroine Talent. This year the sire has also been represented by 16-length Stakes winner Connecticut, among others.
