Ceisteach goes gate-to-wire in Keertana Stakes
There was no stopping four-year-old New Approach filly Ceisteach May 16 in the Keertana Stakes on the turf at Churchill Downs. In the one-and-three-eighths-mile race Ceisteach broke straight to the early lead to set the pace comfortably. Showing the way throughout, the filly held the top position entering the stretch, and no one could catch her down the lane as she went on to a wire-to-wire win.
Bred by J. S. Bolger, Ceisteach is out of the mare Ceist Eile, who has also produced G3 Killavullan Stakes winner Steip Amach.
Top runners for New Approach include Classic winners Dawn Approach and Talent from his first crop of runners, as well as another Classic winner in May's Dream and G1 Nassau Stakes heroine Sultanina. New Approach stands for a fee of £80,000 Oct 1st, SLF.
