Second Stakes win for son of New Approach
New Approach three-year-old Gamblin’ Guru staked his claim for next month’s G1 South Australian Derby with a solid win in the Listed Port Adelaide Guineas over 9f at Morphettville, April 12.
A winner of the Listed Geelong Classic last preparation, Gamblin’ Guru enjoyed the rise in distance in the Port Adelaide Guineas and recorded a gritty nose victory.
Bred by the Guru Breeding Syndicate, Gamblin’ Guru is the second foal of unraced Fusaichi Pegasus mare Glory Guru, a half-sister to G1 Australian Derby winner Gold Guru and G2 winner Gallant Guru.
The sire of Champion juvenile and Classic-winning three-year-old Dawn Approach as well as G1 The Oaks winner Talent, New Approach is standing at Dalham Hall Stud at a fee of £80,000. Dawn Approach is standing his first season at Kildangan Stud at a fee of €35,000.
