Tha’Ir makes it three!

New Approach’s perfect week continued into the final day of Royal Ascot on Saturday, when Godolphin’s Tha’Ir became his third Stakes winner from three runners at the prestigious meeting, running out the convincing winner of the Listed Chesham Stakes.

Settled off the pace under Frankie Dettori, Tha’Ir took the lead a furlong from home and ran on superbly to win by two-and-a-quarter lengths from Cruck Realta, with the race's other Godolphin colt Lovely Pass also running well to take third and become the first Black type performer for fellow first-season sire Raven's Pass.

Bred by Lodge Park Stud, Tha’Ir is out of the winning Green Desert mare Flashing Green, already dam of two Black type performers in Flashing Colour and Flash Dance. The colt’s third dam is the great producer Reprocolor.

He becomes the third Royal Ascot Stakes winner of the week for New Approach, following Dawn Approach’s victory in the G2 Coventry on the opening day, and Newfangled’s win in the G3 Albany yesterday.
