Useful Dubawi filly Tanaza bounced back to winning ways on 25 August with a dominant win in the G3 Fairy Bridge Stakes at Tipperary.
Dermot Weld’s charge was settled in second under jockey Pat Smullen and was still cruising as they approached the two-furlong marker. Once asked to quicken, Tanaza took the lead inside the final furlong and once in front, soon moved clear to win easily by three and a half lengths.
This was her second victory at Group level, having won the G3 Silver Flash Stakes at two. She also finished fourth in the G1 Moyglare Stud Stakes during her juvenile season and will now likely return to G2 level for her next start.
Owned and bred by HH The Aga Khan, Tanaza is out of the G2-placed Listed winner Tanoura, also dam of Shamardal’s Group-winning son Taniyar.
Dubawi is now sire of 20 individual Black type winners this year, headed by Postponed – winner of three G1 contests so far in 2016 – plus a further nine horses who have been placed at the highest level.
