Delacroix, a three-year-old son of Dubawi, made a perfect seasonal debut on Sunday, 30 March when making all the running in the G3 Ballysax Stakes. Run over ten furlongs, he wasn’t hard pressed to record a two-and-a-quarter length victory over Lambourn, with Tiberius Thunder (Night Of Thunder) back in third.
He now has an impressive record of six starts, three wins and three seconds including a victory over Stanhope Gardens (Ghaiyyath) in the G3 Autumn Stakes and nose defeat by Hotazhell (Too Darn Hot) in the G1 Futurity Trophy.
Bred by the Tepin Syndicate, he is out of the great mare Tepin, winner of six G1’s including the Queen Anne at Royal Ascot and the Breeders’ Cup Mile at Keeneland. Tepin has already produced a G1 winner through last seasons Prix de Royallieu heroine Grateful.
Dubawi has now sired nine Stakes winners this season including Walk Of Stars, who beat Imperial Emperor when landing the G1 Al Maktoum Challenge in January. This was also his third from his Classic crop this season after the impressive French pair Silius and Audubon Park.
