Seventh G1 winner for Teofilo

Three-year-old Teofilo colt Kermadec gained his biggest career success on Monday 6 April when landing the G1 Doncaster Mile on Randwick's re-arranged Championship Day card.

Previously third in the G1 George Ryder Stakes, the Chris Waller-trained runner jumped from an outside barrier with jockey Glen Boss, settling the colt towards the rear of the field. Weaving a passage through runners, Kermadec set out after Real Impact and surged away to win the race by one-and-three-quarter lengths to become the seventh individual G1 winner for his sire.

Also winner of the G3 Carbine Club Stakes during the Melbourne Spring Carnival, the Llanhennock Trust-bred Kermadec is out of the Listed-winning Fuji Kiseki mare Hy Fuji.

Kermadec was the second impressive Stakes winner for Teofilo within the space of two days after General Sherman's impressive four-length triumph in Italy on Sunday.

The sire of 34 stakes winners including Irish Derby winner Trading Leather, G1 Dewhurst Stakes hero Parish Hall, Queensland Derby winner Sonntag and the Irish St Leger winner Voleuse De Coeurs, Teofilo is standing the current season at Kildangan Stud at a fee of €50,000 Oct 1st, SLF.
