Just a day after New Approach’s well-bred two-year-old daughter Hadith won the Listed Fillies’ Montrose Stakes at Newmarket, her paternal half-brother Veneto provided his sire with two Black Type winners in as many days when landing the G3 Niederrhein Pokal in Germany.
Having been settled just off the pace initially , Andreas Suborics’ charge moved right across the track to race alone down the back straight, before moving back to the near side once approaching the final turn. By then, he had established a clear advantage and despite being hard pressed close to home, kept finding during the closing stages and eventually won by three lengths to record his fifth career win.
Veneto was bred by M Barth and is out of the multiple winner Venia Legendi, also dam of four-time G2 winner Vanjura and fellow Stakes winner Vancovia.
New Approach is also sire this year of G2-winning duo Sword Of Light and Strathspey, plus G1-placed juveniles Magic Lily and Masar.
New Approach stands at Dalham Hall Stud at a fee of £30,000 Oct 1, Special Live Foal.
