New York Girl, a juvenile daughter of New Approach, gained a valuable G3 victory on Sunday, 29 September when getting on top near the line in the G3 Park Stakes at the Curragh. The win looked unlikely a furlong from home but as the leaders faltered, she quickened well to lead near the line by a neck.
Trained by Joseph O’Brien, she came into race a maiden after a debut fourth at Cork.
Bred by Peter and Paddy Kelly of Ballybin Stud, New York Girl is a full-sister to Broadway Duchess, who gained Black Type when third in the Listed Snowdrop Fillies’ Stakes. Her dam, the Giant’s Causeway mare Annee Lumiere, also has a filly foal by Fast Company.
New Approach is now sire of 16 Black Type performers in 2019, including G2 Dante Stakes winner Telecaster, plus Group scorers Flop Shot and Hey Gaman.
