Satomi, a four-year-old daughter of Teofilo, gained a valuable first Group victory on Saturday, 11 July when landing the G2 Grosser Hansa Preis. Run over a mile and a half in Hamburg, she came through late to win going away by one-and-a-half lengths.
Satomi was winning her second Stakes contest after taking the Listed Hein Bollow Memorial at Hannover in May.
Bred by Gestüt Wittekindshof and owned by Stall Helena, Satomi is a daughter of the Haafhd mare Swordhalf who was crowned the Champion juvenile filly in Germany in 2012.
Teofilo has now sired eight Stakes winners in 2020 including two thrilling G1 scorers. Exultant continues to dominate Hong Kong and two of his five top-flight triumphs have come this year while Tawkeel became France’s leading three-year-old filly with a wide-margin win in the Prix Saint Alary.
