New Approach, who has had an excellent season with his three-year-olds, added another Stakes winner to that crop on Tuesday, 6 November when his daughter Fresh Terms landed the Prix Solitude. Trained by Ralph Beckett, this was her first attempt at Black Type level after three victories this season at Epsom, Windsor and Chepstow. She won the 2000m contest at Saint-Cloud by three quarters of a length.
Owned and bred by Robert Barnett, she is the second foal of the Exceed And Excel mare Best Terms, who landed the G2 Queen Mary and G2 Lowther Stakes in 2011.
New Approach’s Classic crop, his first conceived after siring the winners of the 2,000 Guineas and Oaks, have been outstanding and include the Derby hero Masar. His nine Stakes performers also include a trio of G2-winners in Loxley, Ostilio and Waldlied, G1 milers Cascadian and Hey Gaman and G1 juvenile Magic Lily. His fee remains at £30,000 Oct 1 SLF for this coming season.
