Flight Risk takes the Gladness
Flight Risk, a four-year-old son of Teofilo, landed his biggest career victory on Sunday April 19 when taking the G3 Gladness Stakes, run over seven furlongs at the Curragh. Always well-regarded, his first two career starts were Stakes races at the Curragh when a credible fourth on each occasion, and he appreciated the better ground today to run out the game one-and-a-quarter length victor. His trainer Jim Bolger mentioned after the race how much he had improved this season and he will now likely next run at the Irish Derby meeting.
Bred by James F Hanly, Flight Risk is out of the Group-placed mare Raghida and a half-brother to three Group performers. Raghida hails from the excellent family that includes Sholokhov, Soldier Of Fortune and Intense Focus.
Teofilo is enjoying an excellent 2015 with his notable runners including Australian G1 Doncaster Handicap winner Kermadec, wide-margin Listed winner General Sherman and the promising Group performers Fate and Arod.
Teofilo stands this season at a fee of €50,000 Oct 1st, SLF.
