Silent Escape, a four-year-old daughter of New Approach, led home a Darley-sired 1-2-3 in the Listed Dubai Duty Free Cup at Newbury. Sent straight to the front by jockey Oisin Murphy in the seven-furlong contest, the lightly raced filly held on gamely to repel D’Bai and Al Suhail (both sons of Dubawi) to win by one-and-a-half lengths.
Silent Escape is the third winner bred by the Pivotal mare Rosewater, a half-sister to two Stakes winners including Nocturnal Fox (Farhh).
New Approach has sired nine top-flight winners including Derby hero Masar, whose oldest crop are foals of 2021. This year New Approach has sired the winners of the G1 Irish 2,000 Guineas in Mac Swiney and the G1 Doncaster Handicap in Australia through the British-bred Cascadian.
