Dubawi’s brilliant globetrotting son Rebel’s Romance won his 11th Group race on Sunday 16 February when repeating his victory in the G3 H. H. The Amir Trophy. Transferred to Al Uqba, he was sent straight to the front in the 2300m contest and never saw a rival, going clear in the straight for a very easy win.
Well done REBEL’S ROMANCE! 🏆

The winner of 16 of his 23 starts, Rebel’s Romance completed a G1 hat trick in 2022 culminating with a victory in the Breeders’ Cup Turf at Keeneland. He went one better last season, winning four top-flight races and again concluding with a Breeder’s Cup Turf victory, this time at Del Mar. With today’s win he takes his career earnings to over £10M.
A Godolphin-homebred, Rebel’s Romance is out by the Street Cry mare Minidress, who has also produced the ill-fated G1 winner Measured Time. Minidress also has a full-brother juvenile colt to Rebel’s Romance.
Later in the day in France No Lunch became Dubawi’s second Stakes winner when winning the Listed Prix Saonois. The final of the Polytrack Challenge is run over a mile at Cagnes-sur-Mer and the progressive four-year-old won by two-and-a-half lengths over Fast Raaj (Iffraaj).

Owned and bred by Wertheimer & Frere, the lightly raced colt has now won three of his seven starts and is out of the Stakes-winning Shamardal mare Lunch Lady.
Dubawi, Britain’s greatest ever stallion, has sired 292 individual Black Type winners, of which 190 have won at Group level and 60 in G1’s. He has already sired a new G1 winner in 2025 after Walk Of Stars landed the Al Maktoum Challenge at Meydan last month.
