Dubawi – who has sired more winners than any other first-season sire in Europe – recorded his 29th individual winner on 27 October when Bowmaker made a successful racecourse debut at Southwell.
Settled off the early pace, the Mark Johnston-trained juvenile took the lead with two furlongs left to run and eased clear of his rivals to win by seven lengths.
Bred by Brook Stud Bloodstock Limited, he is the second winner out of the Vettori mare Viola da Braccio who is herself a half-sister to three Black type performers including Offshore Boom – dam of Rock of Gibraltar.
Dubawi has also sired five Black type performers, including Godolphin’s Group-winning duo Poet’s Voice and Sand Vixen.
Also on Tuesday, Young Tiger (Tiger Hill) recorded his fourth Black type victory when taking the Listed Grand Prix de Nantes by four lengths. The eight-year-old has been a wonderfully consistent performer, recording 16 wins and a further seven placings from 28 career starts.
Tiger Hill is sire of seven Black type performers this year, including G1 Deutsches Derby third Toughness Danon and G3-placed juvenile Eternal Power.
