New Stakes winner for Dubawi in Germany

Diya strikes in Listed Diana Trial in Mülheim

Diya, a three-year-old daughter of Dubawi, broke her maiden in style on Sunday, 14 July when winning the Listed Diana Trial at Mülheim in Germany. Heading into the race a once-raced second in a maiden last month at Hoppegarten, she gained valuable Black Type with a one-length victory.

Owned and bred by Gestüt Brümmerhof, Diya is the first winner bred out of the G1 Preis des Diana heroine Diamanta. Diya also shares the same female line as Dubawi, with blue hen Sunbittern the fifth dam of both.

Dubawi is now the sire of 19 Stakes winners in 2024, unbeaten by any stallion in the world. They include four that have won at the highest level. His three-year-olds Notable Speech and Ezeliya were the thrilling winner of the 2,000 Guineas and Oaks, Rebel’s Romance has won G1’s in both UAE and Hong Kong, plus Master Of The Seas landed the G1 Maker’s Mark Mile at Keeneland in April. Just yesterday, his unbeaten juvenile son Ancient Truth landed his first Group victory in the G2 Superlative Stakes at Newmarket.
