Smoken remains unbeaten at Newmarket

Juvenile daughter of Too Darn Hot lands Listed Montrose Stakes

Smoken, a two-year-old daughter of Too Darn Hot, won her first Stakes race on Saturday, 2 November when battling gamely in the Listed Montrose Stakes. Coming into the race unbeaten after a debut win at Nottingham, she dug deep inside the final furlong to win by one length.

Bred by Highview Bloodstock & A Swinburn, Smoken is a daughter of G3-winning mare Miss Marjurie, a close relative of Champions Soviet Song and Marsha.

Too Darn Hot has enjoyed a spectacular season, and has now sired 15 individual Stakes winners. They are led in Europe by Classic winner Fallen Angel and last weeks G1-winning juvenile Hotazhell, plus Australia’s Champion juvenile Broadsiding, who also won the G1 Golden Rose in September.
