Dubawi’s outstanding season continued on Thursday, 21 July when his smart juvenile daughter Never Ending Story posted an impressive victory in the G3 Silver Flash Stakes, run over seven furlongs at Leopardstown.
Settled in fourth under Ryan Moore, the Aidan O’Brien-trained filly was asked to quicken with a furlong and a half left to run. Picking up impressively, she ran on strongly to win by half a length from the fast-finishing Zoinnocent.
Never Ending Story broke her maiden at the Curragh last month, where she is likely to return in the G2 Debutante Stakes on Saturday, 20 August. Highly regarded, she also holds an entry in the G1 Moyglare Stud Stakes.
Bred by Coolmore, Never Ending Story is the first foal out of the G1 Belmont Oaks winner Athena, a three-parts sister to Irish Oaks heroine Bracelet. They are from the family of the great Urban Sea.
Dubawi is now sire of a world leading 18 Group winners in 2022, three ahead of his closest rival Frankel.
Also on Thursday, first-season sire Harry Angel notched a new winner when Felix Natalis made all to take the six-furlong Nursery at Newbury.
Winning by no fewer than three and a half lengths, a step up could now be on the cards for Tom Dascombe’s charge.
Felix Natalis was bred in Ireland by Ennistown Stud and is the first foal out of the unraced Dubawi mare Newtown Pippin, herself a daughter of G1 1,000 Guineas third and Stakes winner Vista Bella.
Harry Angel is also sire of G2 Prix Robert Papin third, Vicious Harry.
