Night Of Thunder’s first runners have been quick to demonstrate their talent on the racecourse and on Saturday, 17 August his son Thunderous made it three wins from three starts, plus a successful step up to Black Type company when winning the Denford Stakes.
Prominent throughout under Franny Norton, the Mark Johnston-trained colt took the lead two furlongs from home and easily held off the challenge of eventual second Sesame Birah to win by a length. Fellow Night Of Thunder colt Sun Power added further Black Type to his record, finishing just a neck further back in third.
Thunderous broke his maiden at the first time of asking at Doncaster at the end of June, before posting another easy win at Redcar last month. He holds entries in the Champagne and Royal Lodge Stakes, both G2 contests.
Thunderous is out of the Stakes-winning Dalakhani mare Souviens Toi.
Night Of Thunder is also sire of unbeaten G3 Princess Margaret Stakes winner Under The Stars, plus the Stakes-placed Thunderspeed.
