Dubawi sired his sixth Stakes winner of the month when his three-year-old daughter Discursus graduated to Listed level in the Grosser Preis der Metallbau Burckhardt on Sunday, 17 September. Trained in France by Henri-Alex Pantall, she was held up in the rear early before making her move in the straight, soon quickening clear to win by a wide margin in the one-mile contest.
Unraced as a juvenile, she is improving quickly having only broke her maiden at Clairefontaine last month.
Discursus is the first foal of the highly rated unbeaten Group-winning juvenile Discourse (Street Cry), who landed the G3 Sweet Solera Stakes at Newmarket in 2011. A half-sister to US G1 winner Bandini, Discourse also has a two-year-old filly by New Approach, named Hadith and in training with Charlie Appleby, a filly foal by Dubawi and has been scanned in foal to the same sire this season.
Just this month Dubawi has sired the 1-2-3 in the G1 Prix Vermeille through Bateel, Journey and Left Hand, the wide-margin G2 Blandford Stakes heroine Shamreen, yesterday’s Canadian G2 winner Quidura and Group-winning juveniles Glorious Journey and Anna Nerium.
