First-season sire Helmet added a 13th individual winner to his record on 23 August when his daughter Kind of Beauty made a successful racecourse debut over a mile at Yarmouth.
The Hugo Palmer-trained filly missed the break, but was soon back in touch under jockey Jim Crowley and was ridden along once approaching the three-furlong marker. Showing little sign of her inexperience, Kind of Beauty made smooth headway and hit the front inside the final half-furlong, winning by half a length.
Kind of Beauty is out of the G2-placed Rahy mare Extreme Beauty, herself one of ten winners out of Stakes winner Mediation, also dam of record-breaking G1 winner Go Between.
Helmet has made a very successful start to his stud career, siring three Group horses to date – more than any other first-season sire in the northern hemisphere. They include G2 Vintage Stakes second Thunder Snow and last Saturday’s G3 Curragh Stakes second Mur Hiba.
