Anda Muchacho, a first-crop son of Helmet, recorded Stakes win number six when landing the G2 Premio Vittorio di Capua on Sunday, 21 October, beating Exceed And Excel’s son Degas by three quarters of a length. Making his first start since April, this was win number eight in a nine race career.
The winner of the Italian 2,000 Guineas last season, he had finished 2017 with a victory in the G2 Premio Roma. His only career defeat came when a non-staying third in the Italian Derby.
Bred by Thomas Hassett, he is a son of the unraced Shamardal mare Montefino, whose first foal was the G3 juvenile Parsley. Montefino is a daughter of G2 winner Monturani and granddaughter of Mezzogiorno, who was placed in both the G1 Epsom and Yorkshire Oaks.
Anda Muchacho is from the first crop of Helmet which also includes the three-time G1-winner Thunder Snow, who is being aimed at the Breeders' Cup Classic and Stakes winners Eqtiraan and Taamol.
