Signoff, a son of Authorized, signalled he is back to his best with a six-length romp of the G3 Lord Reims Stakes at Morphettville in South Australia on 5 March.
Sent out a short-priced favourite, the fourth-placed finisher in the 2014 G1 Melbourne Cup settled behind the leading pair in the early stages. Jockey Harry Coffey waited patiently for a gap to open after straightening for home and when it did Signoff put the race beyond doubt in a matter of strides.
Bred by Darley, Signoff is the first Stakes winner out of the Gone West mare Miss Hepburn, a daughter of G3 winner Circle Of Gold who is in turn a sister to the dam of Champion Stayer Rule Of Law.
Authorized is the sire of 26 Stakes winners, among them four G1 winners in Ambivalent, Hartnell, Seal Of Approval and Complacent.
Authorized stands at Haris du Logis, Normandy, for a fee of €10,000 October 1st Special live foal.
