Sixth winner for New Approach
New Approach, who has made such a sensational start to his stud career, sired his sixth individual winner on Tuesday when the James Tate-trained New Falcon ran out the determined winner of a seven-furlong nursery at Epsom.
Bred by Rabbah Bloodstock, New Falcon races in the familiar red and white silks of Saeed Manana, for whom her dam Wimple (by Kingmambo) won twice as a two-year-old. Wimple has already produced a black-type performer, Sharnberry, a daughter of Shamardal who was runner-up in the G3 Fred Darling Stakes. She is also the dam of dual winner Master Rooney, by Cape Cross, and Jamhara, a three-year-old filly by Authorized who won over six furlongs in April.
New Approach’s first crop includes a trio of Royal Ascot Stakes winners – G2 Coventry Stakes hero Dawn Approach, who is now unbeaten in four starts, Chesham Stakes winner Tha’Ir and Newfangled, who won the G3 Albany Stakes in impressive fashion and then tragically suffered a fatal injury when sent off favourite for last week’s G2 Lowther Stakes.
