Dubawi has been enjoying a successful spell of late, averaging just over a winner a week since the end of May, and the first-season sire further increased his winners’ tally on 6 August when Diamond Duchess won in tenacious style over a mile at Haydock.
Settled just off the pace under Robert Winston, Diamond Duchess was ridden along with three furlongs left to run and kept to her task well to win by a neck from Music Of The Moor, with the pair three-and-a-quarter lengths clear of third-placed Mark Anthony.
Bred by Raymond Auld and now running in the colours of Saif Ali, Diamond Duchess is out of the Stakes-placed Shahrastani mare Tarakana. She has now produced six individual winners including Galtres Stakes winner and G3-placed filly Tarakala.
Godolphin’s recent ten-length winner by Dubawi, Poet’s Voice, has been allocated a Timeform rating of 108p for his performance – making him the third-highest rated juvenile by a first-season sire in Great Britain and Ireland.
