Too Darn Hot made an outstanding impression with his first crop of runners in 2023 and on Wednesday 15 May, he opened his two-year-old Black Type account for 2024 when Hot Darling remained unbeaten to take the Listed Prix Haras de Beaumont at Vichy.
Breaking smartly under Mickael Barzlona, the Amy Murphy-trained filly took the lead after a furlong and a half and despite being hard pressed by her rivals close to home, kept on superbly to win by half a length. Hot Darling broke her maiden at Chantilly three weeks ago.
Bred by Rabbah Bloodstock, she is out of the Helmet mare Boater, herself a Stakes-placed juvenile and closely related to this year's G1 French Guineas winner Metropolitan.
Too Darn Hot is also sire this year of Australian G1 winner Broadsiding, plus Japanese G2 winner Etes Vous Prets. He sired an unrivalled four European Group-winning juveniles last year, headed by G1 Moyglare winner Fallen Angel and G1 Dewhurst runner up Alyanaabi.
