Godolphin’s Sand Vixen became the eighth individual winner for first-season sire Dubawi on 8 July, recording a convincing two-and-a-half length victory over six furlongs at Kempton.
Despite missing the break, the filly was soon back in touch and travelled well towards the rear. Weaving through the field from the halfway mark, Sand Vixen responded brilliantly when asked by Ted Durcan and taking the lead a furlong from home, ran on well to score by two-and-a-half lengths.
Bred by Mrs M Campbell Andenaes, Sand Vixen is out of the Petong mare Fur Will Fly, who is now dam of four winners including Carnarvon Stakes winner and G3 Greenham Stakes third So Will I. Sand Vixen was purchased at the Tattersalls Craven Breeze Up Sale for 130,000 guineas.
Also on Wednesday, Godolphin’s other runner by Dubawi - Poet’s Voice - made a promising debut when third over seven furlongs at Newmarket.
