A dozen winners for Helmet

Mur Hiba confirms her promise when winning at the Curragh

Mir Hiba, a juvenile daughter of first-crop stallion Helmet, broke her maiden in style on Sunday 7 August when winning over the minimum trip at the Curragh. In her two previous starts, both at the same course, she had shown distinct promise and appreciating the drop down in trip, ran on really well to record a half-a-length victory.

Bred by Edmond Kent and bought by current connections for 80,000Gns at the Craven Breeze-up sale, Mur Hiba is out of the Brief Truce mare Miss Brief and a half-brother to three Stakes performers including Prix du Cercle winner Riskit Fora Biskit and G2 juvenile Crown Prosecutor (Exceed And Excel).

One of the leading first-season stallions in Europe, Helmet’s 12 individual winners can not be beaten by any other freshman. Already the sire of G2 colt Thunder Snow, he also has a number of impressive last time out maiden winners including Eqtiraan, Taamol and Timeless Flight.
