First-season sire Dubawi recorded his second winner on 7 June, when his daughter Curtains swooped to victory over five furlongs at Brighton.
Sent off the 11-10 favourite, the Simon Dow-trained filly was always in touch and took the lead close to home, going on to win by a length and a quarter. Bred by Sir Eric Parker, Curtains is out of the G3-placed Barathea mare Voile.
Dubawi, who sired his first winner less than two weeks ago, was himself an unbeaten two-year-old, rounding off his juvenile year with victory in the G1 National Stakes. Winner of the Irish 2000 Guineas at three, he then emulated his own sire, the great Dubai Millennium when winning the G1 Prix de Jacques le Marois.
