Glorious Journey continued a very successful week for Dubawi on Friday, 8 September when becoming his sire’s second juvenile Group winner in two days and becoming his 90th Group winner in the process.
Running in the maroon and white colours of HH Sheikha al Jalila Racing, Glorious Journey was soon sent to the front by James Doyle and from then on was in total command, quickening well during the closing stages to win easily. The Charlie Appleby-trained colt remains unbeaten in two starts, having won on his racecourse debut at Newmarket in July.
Glorious Journey was bred by Normandie Stud and is the first foal to race out of G1 Coronations Stakes winner Fallen For You (Dansili).
Dubawi, sire of 30 G1 winners to date (including four who have won at the highest level this year), has now recorded 21 individual Black Type winners in 2017. Only yesterday, his daughter Anna Nerium swept to victory in the G3 Dick Poole Fillies’ Stakes at Salisbury.
