Perfect Power’s first crop of foals hit the ground in 2024 with many top breeders so impressed that they are using again him this season.
One foal that is bred to be quick is a filly out of Dubai Bounty, making her a half-sister to the 124-rated speedball Kachy. Born on 7 February, her breeder Fiona Denniff commented “I am delighted with this foal; she is a good size with good bone and a nice shape. Therefore I will be using Perfect Power again in 2024.”
Another breeder impressed was Robbie Mills of RMM Bloodstock, who after getting a colt out of Stakes-winning sprinter Minalisa said, “Nice stamp of a foal, very attractive. The best the mare has had. Not a difficult decision to send her straight back to him.”
Mutrecy, a young mare whose second produce by Earthlight sold as a foal for 110,000gns last year, gave birth to a lovely Perfect Power colt on 11 February. His breeder, Tom Whitehead of Powerstown Stud was suitably impressed.
“We have a really good colt foal by Perfect Power. He is a deep bay, very strong, and we are sending a mare back to him off the back of him.”
Another February birth was a filly out of Vaulted, a half-sister to two G2 winners including Champion Spacious. Ed Player certainly liked what he saw, “(she is) a big strong filly, nice limbs and I'm pretty pleased with the model we've got. I am trying to find a mare to send to him.”
Perfect Power, a dual G1 winning juvenile who also won the G1 Commonwealth Cup at Royal Ascot at three, is currently in his second season at stud at a fee of £10,000.
