Fees for the European Darley stallions have been announced, following another outstanding year on the track. This year alone, Darley’s active roster in Europe have sired the winners of 132 Stakes races, with eight stallions siring G1 winners in eight separate countries.
They include Cracksman’s unbeaten Champion Ace Impact, G1 winners for first-crop sires Blue Point and Too Darn Hot, plus Kildangan stalwart Teofilo, who was recently responsible for the one-two in the Caulfield Cup while his son Nations Pride added a further two G1 victories to his CV. Cracksman’s fee is unchanged at £17,500, as is Teofilo at €30,000.
Blue Point has been nothing short of sensational during his first year with runners, siring 41 individual winners to date headed by record-breaking G1 winner Rosallion and Breeders’ Cup contender Big Evs. He has also enjoyed huge success at the sales, with his yearlings selling for up to 1.5 million guineas. His fee for 2024 will be €60,000.
Too Darn Hot has also made an outstanding start to his stud career with seven Black Type performers already, headed by G1 heroine Fallen Angel. He will stand at £65,000.
The progeny of Dubawi (who remains at £350,000) continue to excel, recording nine top-flight victories in 2023, including new stallion and his most prolific G1 winner Modern Games (who will stand alongside his sire at £30,000), plus two juveniles in Ancient Wisdom and Henry Longfellow.
Another son of the supersire, Night Of Thunder (€100,000), has enjoyed his best season yet with his two-year-olds with 30 individual winners. Highfield Princess continues to fly the flag for her sire, adding another G1 victory to her record in the Prix de l’Abbaye.
Joining Night Of Thunder at Kildangan Stud is unbeaten Champion juvenile and Irish 2,000 Guineas winner Native Trail, who will stand at a fee of €17,500.
Also new for 2024 is Triple Time (£10,000), the brilliant Queen Anne winner, rated Frankel’s best son over a mile.
Young Dalham stallions Harry Angel and Territories recorded G1 winners with both making their mark as arguably the best value sires on the market, both standing at £10,000.
Darley’s three stallions with first yearlings all excelled at the sales in 2023. Ghaiyyath (€25,000) led all his contemporaries at Arqana August and Tattersalls Book 1, while Shamardal’s sons Pinatubo (£35,000) headed all first-crop sires at Tattersalls Book 2 and Earthlight (€15,000) was the star at Goffs Orby.
