Following successful open days at Kildangan Stud and Dalham Hall Stud, this weekend (21 and 22 January) offers breeders the opportunity to see the Darley stallions based in France up close as Haras du Logis welcomes visitors as part of la Route des Etalons.
The stud will be open from 10.30am to 4pm on both days, with nine stallions available to view.
Haras du Logis has two new recruits for the 2017 season in Bow Creek and Exosphere. Exosphere (pictured), who stands at a fee of €6,000 October 1st SLF, is the latest shuttle stallion to join the French roster and boasts an outstanding race record, having won the G2 Skyline Stakes at two before taking the G1 Golden Rose in record time at three. The son of Champion sire Lonhro also won the G2 Roman Consul Stakes in record time, a race won previously by Exceed And Excel and Fastnet Rock.
Bow Creek, a son of Shamardal, is also new for 2017 and will stand as a Darley Club stallion at €4,000. Winner of the G2 Celebration Mile at three, Bow Creek followed up in the G2 Solonoway Stakes at Leopardstown where he finished ahead of six G1 performers. Relocated to Australia, Bow Creek then beat no fewer than seven G1 winners when landing the G2 Peter Young Stakes at Caulfield.
Also on show will be fellow Darley Club stallion Hunter’s Light, the three-time G1 winner who recently welcomed the arrival of his first foal, together with Authorized – sire of four G1 winners to date.
They will be joined by Manduro, whose G1-winning son Vazirabad continued to fly the flag for his sire in 2016; first-season sire Masterstroke; Rio de la Plata, sire of 41 per cent winners to runners last year; Champion juvenile Sidestep, whose first northern hemisphere foals arrive this year, and Slickly, that perennial source of sound, talented winners.
