Hunter’s Light sired his biggest winner to date on Saturday, 15 August when this three-year-old daughter Irska landed the G3 Prix de Lieurey over a mile at Deauville. The lightly raced filly came through inside the final furlong to win going away by one-and-a-quarter lengths.
Unraced as a juvenile, Irska has now won three of her five starts, with her only defeats a second and a third in Listed contests at Deauville and Longchamp.
Bred and trained by Markus Nigge, Irska is a daughter of Stakes performer Eire (Medicean), who had already produced two Group performers in Happy Approach (New Approach) and Toijk.
Hunter’s Light, from the very productive Dubawi sire-line, won 10 Stakes races for Godolphin including three at the highest level. His small first crop are now three-year-olds and include 15 winners.
