First-season sire Cloth Of Stars added his first winner to his record on Monday, 18 July when his daughter Kenmya was successful over seven furlongs at Vichy.
Settled in mid division under Cristian Demuro, Kenmya battled superbly in the closing stages of the race to edge out Newkidontheblock and win by a short head.
Kenmya was bred by the Poirier family and is the first foal out of the multiple winner Wataany, herself a half-sister to Stakes winner Watayouna.
Cloth Of Stars was himself a Group winner at two and finished second in the G1 Criterium de Saint-Cloud the same year. Two further Group victories followed at three, before an outstanding four-year-old campaign that saw him land the G1 Prix Ganay and the G2 Prix d’Harcout. He was crowned Champion older horse in 2017, having also finished second to Enable in the Arc – a race in which he placed again the following year.
Cloth Of Stars has been extremely popular with breeders since retiring to Haras du Logis and his first crop of yearlings averaged over six times his fee.
