Dubawi hit yet another milestone as his three-year-old daughter Zanzoun landed the G3 Nell Gwyn Stakes over seven furlongs at Newmarket, bringing up 700 Black Type wins for her sire on Tuesday, 15 April.
Making her seasonal reappearance having signed off her two-year-old campaign with a five-length victory at Southwell, Zanzoun was settled towards the rear and always travelled strongly throughout the contest. She picked up well when asked for an effort inside the final two furlongs, pulling clear to win by just under two lengths.
Trained by John and Thady Gosden, the Juddmonte homebred is the first foal out of Frankel mare Franconia, a winner at Listed level and a half-sister to G1 winner Winsili.
Zanzoun is another exciting Classic prospect for her sire Dubawi, whose son Delacroix staked his claim for the G1 Derby with an easy victory in the G3 Ballysax Stakes. Dubawi has made another brilliant start to the season and is the leading sire in Europe by Stakes winners (five), and the leading broodmare sire in Europe by Stakes winners (five).
