Darley stallion Teofilo was represented by his eighth winner as Cleofila won a maiden over seven furlongs at the Curragh on Saturday, August 20. Having unseated the rider before the start, the filly showed plenty of courage winning by a head. The winner has the same connections as her sire being bred, owned and trained by Jim Bolger. The trainer had also another Teofilo runner later in the day as Parish Hall was second in the Group 2 Futurity Stakes also over seven furlongs at the Curragh.
Cleofila is out of Altarejos, a daughter of Vettori and half sister to three other Black type winners including the Group 1 winner Angara. The female family of the winner includes many names that gave the Wildenstein family many successes such as Arcangues, Agathe and her daughter Aquarelliste.
It was Teofilo’s eighth individual winner including the Stakes winner Teolane, also trained by Jim Bolger, and Group 3 winner Remember Alexander.
