Two in two days for Pinatubo

Pearl Of Windsor became the sire’s ninth individual winner with a promising victory at Sandown

First-season sire Pinatubo continued his excellent run of form by siring his second winner in as many days when Pearl Of Windsor was a comfortable winner of the five-furlong maiden at Sandown on Thursday 8 August.

Dropped back in trip to the minimum distance for the first time on her third start, Pearl Of Windsor travelled strongly throughout and with two furlongs to run, she hit the front and stayed on strongly to score by a length.

Bred by Bearstone Stud, her trainer Conrad Allen purchased the filly for 160,000gns from Book 2 of the Tattersalls October Yearling Sale. Out of the Dubawi mare Dubai Affair, she is a half-sister to dual Stakes winner Raasel, who was herself a winner over course and distance in the G3 Coral Charge.

Pinatubo has now sired nine individual winners, among them are unbeaten colts Andesite and Diablo Rojo, both of whom look poised to take a step up into Stakes company. Impressive debut winner Wolf Of Badenoch has already made that step with an excellent second in the G2 Vintage Stakes at Glorious Goodwood and has entries in the G2 Champagne Stakes and G1 National Stakes.
