Blue Point’s promising juvenile daughter Snafiya, who has been placed on her first three starts, gained a well-deserved maiden win over six furlongs at Doncaster on Saturday, 22 July.
Having recently changed stables, Snafiya was having her first run for trainer Alice Haynes. Jumping well under Thore Hammer Hansen, the filly travelled well just in behind the leader, she the hit the front with just under two furlongs to run and pulled away from the field to win easing down, posting a three and three quarter length victory.
Bred by Barouche Stud Ireland Ltd, Snafiya was an 80,000gns Tattersalls Yearling Book one purchase. She is the third foal out of the Stakes-winning mare Erysimum (Arcano).
Leading first season sire, Blue Point, is enjoying a fantastic start at stud. Now the sire of 19 individual winners, he is also responsible for two Stakes-winning colts, Big Evs, a three-length winner of the Listed Windsor Castle Stakes at Royal Ascot and Action Point who took the Rose Bowl Stakes at Newbury yesterday afternoon.
