Blue Point’s superb start to his stud career continued on Tuesday 25 April when Sir Bolton made a successful racecourse debut at Yarmouth.
Smartly away under Kevin Stott, Sir Bolton travelled well throughout the five-furlong contest and took the lead with two furlongs left to run. He crossed the line a head behind Shayekh but was subsequently awarded the race in the stewards room having suffered interference in the closing stages.
Sir Bolton was bred by Godolphin and is the first foal to race out of the Stakes-winning Invincible Spirit mare Firebird Song, a three-parts sister to fellow Darley stallion Territories.
Blue Point also enjoyed further success at the sales on Tuesday, with his five juveniles to go through the ring at the Goffs UK Breeze Up Sale averaging almost £140,000, with a top lot of £220,000.
The overall sale topper was Harry Angel’s colt out of Listed winner Go Angellica, who was bought by Michael O’Callaghan for £500,000.
