Live To Tell displayed a dazzling turn of foot and became the ninth Stakes-race winner for Territories on Saturday, 18 March when she raced away with the Listed Supremacy Stakes over 1,000m at Ascot in Perth.
Having only her second race start after finishing second on debut to exciting colt Brave Halo, Live To Tell raced midfield for jockey Pat Carbery before surging past the leaders in the home straight.
Live To Tell beat Platinum Shot by 1.5 lengths, with More Special a similar margin away in third place in a time of 58.83 seconds.
Out of the Australian mare Pellicle, who also has a yearling by Harry Angel and a foal by Impending, was bred by Bernie Howlett in the ACT.
Howlett is well known as the breeder of former elite galloper and now successful sire Brazen Beau.
Live To Tell was offered at the 2021 Inglis Australian Weanling Sale by Fernrigg Farm at Denman and bought by Western Australia trainer Simon Miller for $100,000.
Saturday’s win took her prize money swag to $83,380 after just two starts.
Territories was a G1 winner over 1,600m in France during a racetrack career which yielded three wins and seven placings from only 13 starts.
The stallion is already the sire of 136 individual winners, including the winners of 14 Stakes races.
G1 winner Rougir, Berkeley Square (G2) and the Gai Waterhouse purchase Hoo Ya Mal (G3) are among his Stakes winners.
Three lots by Territories sold at the Inglis Premier Yearling Sale in Melbourne early this month to a high of $130,000.
