Ribchester sired a new Group winner on Saturday, 22 October when his three-year-old son Facteur Cheval landed the 1600m G3 Prix Perth at Saint-Cloud, France. Trained by Jerome Reynier, Facteur Cheval is already the winner of four races from six starts which include a win at Listed level, he has also been Group 3 placed.
Under Gerald Mosse the bay gelding, who is owned by G Barber/Team Valor International, broke well from the gates, he was then settled towards the rear, entering the straight the field moved to the inside rail where Facteur Cheval fought gamely to take up the lead from Tribalist inside the final furlong to win by an easy one-and-a-half length.
Bred by McCracken Farms, Facteur Cheval is out of the unraced Shamardal mare Jawlaat, herself a half-sister to G3 winner Tantheem.
Ribchester, a two time European Champion miler, has now sired six Stakes winners including G1 sprinter Flaming Rib, Snooze N You Lose and his most recent Listed winner Championofmyheart.
