Media Storm, trained by G Vaz, became Night Of Thunder’s latest Stakes winner when winning the 2500m Listed Gran Premio de Madrid at Madrid, Spain on Saturday, 25 June, for his owner Domingos Miguel Batista Ribeiro.
Under jockey Valentin Seguy, the five-year-old colt was ridden out to lead inside the final furlong, he held off a challenge from The Way of Bonnie in the final stages to score by a neck.
Media Storm was bred in Great Britain by Wellsummers Farm, he is a half-brother to G3 scorer Agent Murphy and group-placed, Global Heat. They are out of the Dansili mare, Raskutani, herself a half-sister to G2-winner, Hatta Fort (Cape Cross), G3-winning fillies Spirit of Appin and Blue Bayou.
Night Of Thunder, a leading First Season Sire in Europe in 2019, had 20% Stakes winners to runners from his first crop, outperforming his sire (15%) and his broodmare sire (13%). This year so far, he has sired group-winners Highfield Princess and Lola Showgirl, along with Rumbles of Thunder who added a third Black-type victory to her c.v.
