Night Of Thunder sired a new Stakes winner on Friday, 11 February when his progressive second-crop son Storm Damage made all to land the Listed Meydan Challenge.
Keeping a front-running position throughout the contest under Pat Cosgrave, Storm Damage ran on well in the final furlong to secure the contest easily for Godolphin and trainer Saeed bin Suroor.
Bred by Godolphin, Storm Damage is out of the dual G3-winning mare Sundrop making him a half-brother to fellow Listed winners Whitman and Nature’s Colors.
Night Of Thunder a son of super sire Dubawi has made the best start at stud since the Pattern began. He sired two G1 winners in 2021 in Thundering Nights and Kukeracha, plus outstanding sprinter Suesa.
He stands at Kildangan Stud at a fee of €75,000, Oct 1, SLF.
